Constitutional hydrotherapy is the use of water to change the very constitution of our cells. Through revitalizing the cells, vitality is improved, enabling the body to better heal itself.
Hydrotherapy is a traditional naturopathic treatment that has been used for centuries to give people the power to heal. To read more about the history of hydrotherapy, check out this blog post.
Step #1: HOT
A hot towel is applied from your collarbone to your hip bone. The heat of the water draws blood to the surface of the skin via vasodilation. Pores are opened. Perspiration could occur.
Step #2: COLD
The hot towel is replaced with a cold towel. This causes the previously dilated blood vessels to constrict driving the blood from the surface of the skin internally and flushing the internal organs with freshly oxygenated blood. Digestive enzyme production also increases. White blood cells move into the lymphatic chains to do their work. Hydration occurs at this step as the body absorbs 1/4-1/2 cup of water.
Step #3: Electrical muscle stimulation
Sine waves are applied to stimulate muscle contraction and spinal reflux. This stimulates and tonifies the stomach, pancreas, gallbladder, liver, spleen, kidneys, intestines, ovaries, bladder, and cardiovascular system.
Step #4: HOT repeated on back
Step #5: COLD repeated on back
At the end of treatment, I listen to your heart and abdomen to identify potential areas of sluggishness and toxicity. Throughout the treatment I record your body’s vitality via its ability to warm the cold towel.
The treatment lasts 60 minutes. You conclude your hydrotherapy treatment feeling relaxed and happy. Your vital life force is energized, ready to respond and treat the imbalances in your systems.
